REVIEW:
Preuille, ancient parish before its fusion with Audes, exists in Merovingian epoch under the appellation of "Perolium" or "Pelolium". The castle of Preuille was constructed on the promontory which had to control the ancient way going of Nassigny to Chapelaude by the Crest. A more ancient fortification seems to have existed on the site since land register reveals a round plot, can be an ancient clod.
